One thing some of my friends have done is create a Thankful Turkey or Thankful Tree.
Just have the kids draw a large turkey or tree on construction or rolls of paper. Tape it on the wall.
Cut out feathers or leaves from colorful paper and let kids each take one or two and write on them something they are thankful for. Tape the feathers or leaves on the turkey or tree.
This will create a dramatic visual example to the kids that they have MUCH to be thankful for.
It's so great to emphasize thankfulness -- gratitude. Especially at Thanksgiving, which is often overlooked in the mad headlong rush toward Christmas.
